Plot :If
wishes were horses all of us (Indians) would have become filmmakers.
Perhaps, caught between the dilemma of penning a script that would seek
to showcase old world romance and cater to the young movie buffs,
Zindagi Tere Naam is neither nostalgia ridden love story, nor about
mature relationship.
ZTN has a borrowed storyline – from a Ryan Gosling film that too- but
this love story turns into an insufferable pain as the film plods along
portraying love which blooms in the hilly locales of Dalhousie. Two love
stories run parallel in this film and unfold to show the true emotions
of love and life. The film takes a turn when the boy has to make various
sacrifices. The high point of the film is supposedly the intense love
for each other, but sadly the lead pair – Priyanka Mehta and Aseem Ali
Khan- fails to impress. With some movie buffs waiting to see Mithun
Chakraborty and Ranjeeta come together after 22 years, the film could
have been an interesting film since the veteran pair could take them on
a nostalgic drive, and remind them of their golden days when the two
romanced the silver screen. The film rubs in the fact that romance has
no age nor does acting. If only the hackneyed script had something fresh
to salvage the boredom. The credit of bringing Mithunda and Ranjeeta
together ‘Bees Saal Baad goes to director Ashuu Trikha who has
Deewaanapan, Alagh and Sheesha to his credit.
At the end of the film, even die hard Dia Mirza fans (are there any?)
will wonder why on earth she decided to do an item song in this film!!! |
