Plot
:Ritesh (Jackie Shroff) is a film star who lives in the past. Shunned by
filmmakers and hounded by creditors, he becomes an alcoholic. Pooja (Dimple
Kapadia) works to support the family. Romi, their child, becomes a silent
spectator to their constant fights. Alok (Anupam Kher) saves Pooja from a
hoodlum and offers her a job in his firm. Ritesh asks Pooja to choose between
her job and house. She leaves. Ritesh wins Romi's custody. He discovers that
Romi is going to die of cancer. To keep their child happy, Ritesh and Pooja
agree to spend time together. Thrown together under the shadow of their child's
death, Ritesh and Pooja rediscover themselves and each other.Ritesh and Pooja
are married and live a fairly wealthy lifestyle, with Ritesh being a Bollywood
hero. When Ritesh attempts his debut in film-making, a risk considering his
naivety, resulting in huge losses, which they have to make good by selling all
their personal properties, vehicles, and belongings. Now they live in a small
flat, with Ritesh who has now turned to alcohol and indulges in nostalgic
flights of fancy, it is up to Pooja to take over the reins of this family by
being employed, much to the charging of Ritesh, who would prefer that she stay
at home - a discussion that may well be the turning point of their relationship
and may signal the end of their marriage. |
